She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Almstead; her parents, Arthur Rote and Alice Rote (Clark); and her siblings, Arthur Rote Jr. and Frances Osuch.
She is survived by: her daughters, Debra VanAmburgh (Ty), Jennifer Sullivan (Steve) and Roberta Murell; her siblings, Betty Robie (Clint), JoAnn Marler (Bill) and Roger Rote (Linda); and her friends, Betty Burns of North Carolina and Gladys Bell of Newburgh. She is also survived by four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Columbia-Greene Humane Society or Trinity United Methodist Church.
