He was predeceased by: his parents, Arie Koerts and Sally Koerts. He is survived by: his wife Ruthie Koerts; his son Justin Koerts; his siblings, Jim (Charlene Koerts), Paul (Beth Koerts) and Kathy Tampio; and his sisters-in-law, Doris Sykora and Shirley Sykora. He is also survived by several nieces, great-nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greene Emergency Squad, 30 Birdsall St, Greene, NY 13778.
