He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Marr and Tatiana Marr (Meyendorf). He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Peg"; his children, Michael (Dawn), Elizabeth "Betsy" Burgess (Colin) and Mary Jane "Janie" Fitzgerald (Dan); his grandsons, Matthew Oderkirk, Allan Burgess and Jack Burgess; his great grandchildren, Noah Oderkirk and Georgia Marie Burgess; his brother Ilarion Marr (Margaret); his nieces, Ketevan Marr and Sophia Mushinski (Matthias); and his nephew Nicholas Marr (Bonnie).
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Root Funeral Home (23 N Chenango St, Greene, NY 13778). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 18th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the First Congregational Church United (28 N Chenango St, Greene, NY 13778).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George's memory to First Congregational Church UCC of Greene.
