She was predeceased by: her husband Ronald Shapley; her parents, Johannes Haas and Elisabetha Haas; her brothers, Hans and Gerhardt; and her friend Marion Beach.

She is survived by: her children, Yvonne Tannenholtz (Stanley), Brenda Crumb (Tim), Laureen Brady (Paul) and Skip Shapley (JoAnn); her grandchildren, Gage (Amanda), Anna, Connor (Hannah), Jordan (Briana), Ian (Travis), German, Tilli, Bernd, Silke and Andrea; and her close friend Frank Smith. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
