She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Keyes and June Keyes; her husband Dever Messenger; and her sons-in-law, Thomas Petix and David Ogletree Sr..

She is survived by: her daughters, Kathleen Petix and Deborah Ogletree; her grandchildren, Tammy Fleming (Vern), Thomas Petix, Allison Murray (Bill) and Dave Ogletree Jr. (Jennifer); and her siblings, Diane Bixler (Jack) and James Keyes (Joan). She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.
