He was predeceased by: his wife Maria Mastrella (Nitti); his parents, John Paul and Clara Mastrella; his brothers, Rocco and Vincent Mastrella; his parents-in-law, Virginio and Palma Nitti; and his siblings-in-law, Vittorio Nitti, Louis Nitti, John, Carmen Grammatica, Cosmo L'Abbate, Ray Umbrino and Edda Falzalore.
He is survived by: his children, John Mastrella (Maryann), Claire DeLucia (David), Anna Marie Fico (Louie), Mark Mastrella (Katherine) and Carl Mastrella (Kim); his brother Anthony Mastrella (Gloria); and his siblings-in-law, Rosie L'Abbate, Joe Nitti (Donna), Adele Nitti, Amelia Umbrino and Gabriella Pino (Robert). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
