Shigeno Okamoto Obituary
We are sad to announce that on November 4, 2023, Shigeno Okamoto of Great Neck, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Seiichiro and Naka Ohfuchi; her spouse Hiroharu Okamoto of Wakayama; her sons, Akira, Kiyoshi and Hiroshi; her daughters-in-law, Akiyo, Amanda and Akiko; her parents-in-law, Mina, Beni and Marika; and also Chigusa.
In lieu of okoden offerings or flowers, the family is collecting donations in Shigeno's Okamoto's name to the Great Neck Library, an institution she cherished and helped support, where she led many memorable performances as chairperson for the Sakura Women's Chorus.
