He was predeceased by: his parents, Michele Plataroti and Giuseppina Marino Plataroti; and his wife Phyllis. He is survived by: his children, Pamela DiStefano, Paula Benigno, Emil Plataroti and Emily Parzaiale; his sister Jennie Vicari; his grandchildren, Richard (Jennifer), Andrea (Cristobal), Christopher, Nicholas, Steven (Kaitlyn), Paul, Justin (Gab), Ava, Jake, Michael (Danielle) and Amanda; and his great grandchildren, Julian and Cosima.
