He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Bean and Violet Bean (Lavalette); his former wife Jeanette Royea; his wife Judith Bean (Hance); his son Tracy Bean; and his brothers, Burton Bean (Butch) and William Bean (Bill).

He is survived by: his sons, Kevin Bean (Paula) of Essex and Brian Bean (Kimberly) of Essex Junction; his grandchildren, Christan Brisson, Joshua Osborne, Tyler Bean and Kenneth Bean; his great grandchildren, Chase and Courtney Osborne; and his siblings, Ruth Richardson of Grand Isle, Judy Ellwood of St. Albans and James Bean of North Carolina. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.
