He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Varney and Lillian Varney (Roberts); his former wife Jeannie Alice Steves Varney; his daughter Tracy Lee Varney; his stepson Shane E. Vickers; his brothers, Nelson "Ed" Varney (Shirley Phillips Varney), Robert "Kenny" Varney and John R. Varney; and his aunts, Charlotte Baird, Helen Wilkins and Leona Shaw.
He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Varney; his daughters, Lori Schmid (Scott) of Fort Ann and Lisa Ernst of Milton, FL; his stepdaughter Jessica Lawrence (Michael) of Niskayuna; his grandchildren, Darrin, Kristin, Randall, Jacob and Mikaela; his stepgrandchildren, Cecilia, Rose and Samuel "Sam"; his great grandchildren, Kenny, Robert, Michael and Nathan; his aunt Norma Brynelle; and his sisters-in-law, Willma Varney and Pat Varney. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his many beloved pets.
