She was predeceased by: her parents, George Gorton and Sarah Gorton (Amthor); her husband Charles W. Dean; her brothers, Andrew and George Gorton; and her son-in-law Arthur "Jake" Merritt.
She is survived by: her children, Andrew "Mike" Dean (Lorraine) of Claryville, Christine Merritt of Sterling Heights, MI and Penny Dean (Gary Lowe) of Woodlawn, VA; and her grandchildren, Christine Sarosy, Spencer Merritt, Dean Merritt and Leonidas Merritt. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Marie's name to the ASPCA.
