She was predeceased by: her parents, William Laidlaw and Euphemia Laidlaw (Wood); her husband Edwin Roy Knowlton; her son Alan M. Knowlton; and her grandson Scott Hollenbeck.

She is survived by: her daughters, Sally Gilmour of Macomb and Jane Hollenbeck of Gouverneur. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren.

Donations in Jean's memory may be made to the Gouverneur Rescue Squad.
