She was predeceased by: her parents, Karl D. Brown and Goldie E. Brown (Fuller); her former husband Robert E. Prashaw, Sr.; her daughter Laureen Prashaw; her granddaughters, Milinda E. Shampine and Jessica Prashaw; and her siblings, Ronald, Ernest, Weldon, Clifford, Robert Brown, Daphne Filiatrault, Thelma McCready, Wanda Jackson, Rosemary Brown and Isabel Lewis.

She is survived by: her husband James Barker; her children, Donna Prashaw (Justin Leeson), Robert Prashaw, Jeffrey (Jackie Prashaw), Jody Prashaw (Laura Cole) and Karl Prashaw (Nicole Rood); and her siblings, Delbert, David, Frank Brown and Romona Rafter.

Visitation was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the French Funeral Home Inc. (16 Barnes St, Gouverneur, NY 13642). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, February 11th 2025 at the East Riverside Cemetery.
