He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Hari Prasad and Smt; his siblings, Indu Prasad (Harihar), Dharamshila Ganjhu (Mahendra) and Raj Prasad; and his nephew Rakesh Ranjan Prasad.
He is survived by: his wife Usha Gupta; his children, Nisith Kumar, Parimal Kumar (Asha) and Risha Lamba (Sanjay); his brothers, Mahendra Prasad (Shoba), Dr. Arbind Kumar (Roma) and Siddhartha Prasad (Kiran); and his sister-in-law Pratibha. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews.
