He was predeceased by: his parents, Elswood Hopson and Venita Hopson (McRobbie); his wife Betty Hopson (MacMillan); and his sister Jean Chapin. He is survived by: his daughters, Catherine Cerza (Richard), Cynthia Handy (John) and Carol Kilby (Paul Irwin); and his grandchildren, Rachael Dawson (Brendan), Ben Cerza (Laura), Sarah Handy, Lisa Hardy (Joseph), Jill Price (Geoffrey) and Tanya Ryce (David).
