He was predeceased by: his parents, Heinrich Schaperjahn (Henry) and Marie Novak Schaperjahn; his wives, Charlotte Schaperjahn (Mathias) and Genevieve Schaperjahn (Brown); and his siblings, William, Julius, Henry, Joseph, Harold, Ernest and Elsie.

He is survived by: his son Edward H. Schaperjahn Jr. (Jan); his stepchildren, Lynn Roberts (Stephen), Thomas Wieland (Carol), Dr. Robert Wieland and Michael Wieland (Ilyana); and his grandchildren, Thomas Schaperjahn, Kelley Schaperjahn, Jessica McGiff (Matthew), Stephanie Stone (Ryan), Kristin Cimonetti (Marc), Elizabeth Smith (Nathaniel), Sean Wieland (Stacy), Jonathon Roberts, Erin Lehman (Josh) and Brenna Valenti (Chris). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
