In the sacred silence of farewell, Catherine is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Catherine's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Horace Hammond and Willie Sarah Hammond; her sister Virginia; and her husband Leander V. Willett Jr.. She was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Mt. Olive Baptist Church which her mother helped found and where Catherine and Lee where the first couple to be married.
