She was predeceased by: her parents, Otto Thering and Ethel Thering; and her brother Otto Thering (Gretchen). She is survived by: her husband Ronald Specht; her children, Sue Anders (Randy), Gregory Specht (Kathie), George Specht (Brenda), Rhonda Carpenter (Frank), Robert Specht, Steven Specht (Laurie) and Jennifer Meldrum (Michael); and her sisters, Elizabeth Specht (late Peter) and Kathryn Castano (late Dominic). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Shirley's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Hospice Foundation of WNY or the SPCA Serving Erie County.
