She was predeceased by: her husband Dr. John "Jack" Bartels; her son Brian Bartels (Mary Ann); and her sister Janet Doan. She is survived by: her children, Dr. Edward Kelly (Nadine), Dr. James (Katherine), Maureen Pratt (Michael), Dr. Christopher (Amy), Jonathan (Aileen) and Dr. Matthew (Michelle); and her grandchildren, Colette, Christian, Chantal, Meghan, Marisa, Jack, Patrick, Benjamin, Alexander, Emily, John, Katherine, Elizabeth, Brendan, Colin, Barbara, Simon, William, Mikaela, Brian, Kieran, Ian, Brigid, Grace, Seamus, Ryan, Luke, Julia and Liam. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 20th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Roberts Funeral Home (1671 Maple Rd, Williamsville, NY 14221). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, October 21st 2024 at 9:30 AM at the Christ the King Church (30 Lamarck Dr, Amherst, NY 14226). A burial was held on Monday, October 21st 2024 at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery (800 Pine Ridge Heritage Blvd, Cheektowaga, NY 14225).
In lieu of flowers donations in Barbara's name may be made to the Dr. John & Barbara Bartels Scholarship Fund at Canisius College or Brian D. Bartels Scholarship Fund at Canisius High School.
