We are sad to announce that on January 14, 2025, at the age of 69, Karen McLean Hinkein of Germantown, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid Karen McLean farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Karen McLean is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Robert McLean and Marilyn McLean (Teator); her husband Richard "Dale" Hinkein; her son Eric Hinkein; her sister Debbie McLean; and her grandchildren, Leah, Gavin and Laina.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Bates and Anderson Funeral Home (110 Green St, Hudson, NY 12534). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Karen are encouraged to be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Germantown Central School PTA.
