She was predeceased by: her husband Gregory Jackson; her parents, Rossie L. Wiggins and Willie C. Whitley; her brother Melvin Whitley; her nephew Erik Johnson; and her grandmother Beulah L. Kent.
She is survived by: her children, Joshua Jackson, Javon Jackson, Janell Blodgett (Jesse), Jamel Jackson and Janeisha Jackson; her granddaughter Amari Rose; her siblings, Robert Whitley (Gwen), William Whitley (Bobbi), Eugene Whitley (Ellen), Deborah Alvarez (Roberto), Gloria Whitley, Cathy Thomas (Daniel), Raymond Wiggins, Lori Lawson (Lewis) and Darrell Wiggins; and her sister-in-law Linda Whitley. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
