He was predeceased by: his parents, James Barber and Ruth Barber; and his brothers, Robert, Sonny and Bill.
He is survived by: his wife Lois; and his children, Joseph Thornton (Tammie) of Jessup, GA, Eddie Barber (Sandy) of Seattle, WA, Richie Barber, Christopher Thornton of Jessup, GA, Jeannie Barber, Dawn Andre (Gyson) of Geneva, Sherry Rowe (Willie) and Donna Dyer of Savannah, GA. He is also survived by other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
