He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Bates and Nellie Bates; and his wife Kathleen. He is survived by: his children, Maureen Hennessy (John) of Geneva, Daniel Allis (Denise) of Wichita, KS, Michael Allis (Krista) of Waterloo, Scott Allis (Laura) of Greece, NY, Dawn Bogdan of Cortland and Tami Brinkman (Greg) of Newark; his grandchildren, Jason, Jim, Kelli, Kyle, Anne, Michael, Josh, Kaleb and Katie; his great grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jaelynn, Brooklyn, Jenna, Valerie Rose, Adrien Scott, Addie and Isla; and his sister Carolyn Hitt of Georgia.
