He was predeceased by: his parents, Ignacio Mateo, Sr. and Justina Mateo (Rolon); his son Ignacio Ronald Mateo, III; and his siblings, Raymond, Catalino, Jose, Rafael, Thomas, Gloria Chavez and Anna Valentin.
He is survived by: his children, Erek Mateo (Jessica), Angela Mateo (Jeff Mattoon), Justina Mateo and Carmen Mateo; his siblings, Frank Mateo (Karen), Johnny Mateo, Evelyn Munoz and Olga Mateo; and his grandchildren, Ronnie, Marlee Mateo, Elena Mateo, Jeffery, Alivia, Joseph, Jason, Jacob Mattoon and Benito Mateo-Figueroa. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Waterloo Moose Lodge.
