He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar O'Neil and Ruth O'Neil (Laws); and his siblings, Mary Meaden, Marjorie Streppa, Beckie Malyj and William O'Neil.
He is survived by: his sons, Jeffrey Nielsen (Jody) and Michael Nielsen (Dana); his grandsons, Michael, Jeffrey Jr., Nicholas and Daniel; his great grandchildren, Nicholas Jr., Aubree, Alex, Carter, Letti and Cullen; and his brother James R. O'Neil (Susan). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
