He was predeceased by: his parents, Silas A. Gilbert and Sara M. Gilbert. He is survived by: his wife Joan Clarke Gilbert; his children, Brenda Healy and Lynne Shelley (Frederick); his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Healy, Brandi Healy, Elizabeth Shelley and Adam Shelley; and his sister-in-law Joan D. Gilbert. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
