It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara E. VanDerveer (Geneva, New York), who passed away on December 19, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Viola Barbour and George Henry Stempel; and her husband William VanDerveer. She is survived by: her daughter Mary Liles (John) of Pinehurst, NC; her grandchildren, William VanDerveer (Sandy), George VanDerveer (Tina) of Canandagiua, Julia Marie Rock (Noah), Laura Moore (Ryan), Elizabeth Ellsworth (Daniel) of North Carolina, Jonathan Rock of Louisiana and Carolyn Riihinen (Stephen) of Freeville, NY.; her great grandchildren, Zachary, Lydia, Alexandra, Pepper, Benjamin, Genavieve (Anthony) and Annabelle; her sisters, Mary Shelley (Lisle) and Julia Fryer; her niece Barbara Shelley (Glen); and her nephew Greg Fryer (Tina).
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. John's Chapel at Hobart William Smith College.
