He was loved and cherished by many people including: his daughter Kerri Forsberg; his close friend Karen Rumfola; his son Wayne Swede (Brynn Ross) of Geneseo; his grandchildren, Ryan Consiglio (Alyssa) of Phelps, Chelsey Saunders of Holley and Austin Wester of Perry; his great grandchildren, Gavin, Hailey, Hayden and Paysen; his stepdaughter Kellie Nevin (Jamie); his stepgrandchildren, Riley of Avon and Natalie Nevin of Avon; his former wife Rosemary Swede of Geneseo; his brother David Swede (Darlene) of Perry; and his parents, Porter H. Swede and Bernice Ault Swede. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
