He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelius De and Anna Van De (Drenth); his wife Eleanor Van De Weert; and his siblings, Pete, Emma, Minnie, Ella, Cornelius, Albert, Martin, John, Herm and Barney.
He is survived by: his children, Elaine Malda (Jack) of Cato, Garry Van De (Joan), Cheryl Schwarz (Peter) of Newburgh, Sandra Dykshoorn (Edward) of Odessa, Roy Van De (Henrietta) of Geneseo, Darlene De Vries (Douglas) of Geneseo, James Van De (Rosemary) of Geneseo and David Van De Weert of Geneseo. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; also survived by many nieces and nephews, his church family.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc. (21 Big Tree St, Livonia, NY 14487). Visitation was held on Sunday, October 20th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the East Palmyra Christian School, 2023 Port Gibson Road, Palmyra, NY 14522.
