He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Shaffer and Irene Shaffer; his son Gregory Shaffer; his daughter-in-law Terri Shaffer; and his brothers, Robert "Rod" Shaffer, Donald Dunham and Thomas Shaffer Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Emily Shaffer (Roberts); his children, Ralph "Mick" Shaffer and Deana Shaffer; his sisters, Doris Lane, Marion Manahan, Bette LeStrange and Jackie Chilbert; and his grandchildren, Alex, Andrew Shaffer (Patrick Welch) and Charlie.
The military honors was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
