He was predeceased by: his wife Betty; and his sons, Jeffrey Lynn Ruppel and Daniel James Ruppel. He is survived by: his daughters, Susan Cloy (Ted) and JoAnne Ruppel-Frawley (Matt); his grandchildren, Erin Marie Ruppel, Lynnell Schreiber (Eric), Stephanie Mangalsingh (Cody), Daniel Ruppel II (Lauren), Jonathan Ruppel, Donald Cloy II (Haylee) and Vandra Ruppel; his great grandchildren, Lacey, Connor Schreiber, Cecilia Urena, Grant, Arianna Mangalsingh, Aubrey, Paytinn Cloy, Zoey and Carter Ruppel; his brother-in-law Clayton "Butch" Wakefield; and his close friends, Mike, Mary Farina, Lou and Donna Reale. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
