He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Watts and Laura Watts (Thompson); his wife Gerda "Sunny" Watts (Martin); his daughter Carolyn Louise Watts; and his siblings, Alan Watts, Irene Harris (Watts), Charles "Junior" Watts, Isabel McCartney (Watts), James Watts and Donald Watts.

He is survived by: his son David Watts, Jr. (Joni); his grandchildren, Jesse, Travis and Kaila Watts; and his siblings, Barbara Trogden (Vance) of Hope Mills and Clarence Watts (Joan) of Elizabethtown. He is also survived by his wife, son, daughter, daughter-in-law and grandchildren, along with his large extended family.
