He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph F. Schaefer and Violet Schaefer (Schaper). He is survived by: his wife Patricia Schaefer; his children, Rembrandt Schaefer and Renee Schaefer-Salamone (Joseph); his grandsons, Caden Salamone and Theo Salamone; his nephew Cooper Kasin (family: Joseph F. Schaefer Jr.); and his siblings-in-law, Margaret Brown Kasin, Mary Ellen McMullen (John), Regina Pasco (Gary) and Peter Brown (Trudy). He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations in Ronald's name be made to the Gardiner Fire & Rescue Department, 2349 US-44 Gardiner, New York 12525 or Tunnel to Towers Foundation (T2T.org).
