He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph Francis and Louise Detz (Alisandrelli); his wife Cindy Rainey Detz; his children, Joe Detz (Jill) of Wallkill, Suzanne DeGroat (Derek) of Wallkill and Lori Hunt (John) of Wallkill; his sister Nancy Detz of Newburgh; his grandchildren, Kylie Detz, Bryce DeGroat, Jordyn Detz, Kyle DeGroat, JJ Detz, Emma Jo Hunt, Hailey DeGroat, Cole Hunt and Paityn Detz; and his parents-in-law, Josephine and Alvie Rainey. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
