He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Shortle and Eleanor Wright Shortle. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca "Becky"; and his siblings, Molly Sharp of Alabama, Margaret Atkins of Wappingers Falls, Mark Shortle of Gardiner, Susan Shortle of Stamford and Janet Algiere of Red Hook. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
