We bid farewell to George F. Wheeler Jr. of Gardiner, New York, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 19, 2025 at the age of 93. He was predeceased by: his parents, George F. Wheeler Sr. and Cecilia Hertrick; his wife Lillian Wheeler; his close friend Joyce Alexander; his son Michael James Wheeler; his brother Thomas Wheeler; his niece Marsha Wheeler; his grandson Michael Wheeler; and his son-in-law Steward Dorward.
He is survived by: his daughters, Gail Dorward of Woodstock, GA, Deborah Stephenson (Keith) of Burbank and Diane Miller (Randy) of Summerville; and his brother Ronald Wheeler. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home (39 Orchard St, Walden, NY 12586). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. An entombment will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Cedar Hill Mausoleum (Rte 9W, Newburgh, NY).
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Montgomery Fire Department or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
