He is survived by: his spouse Mary Higgins; his children, Eileen McAleese (John), Jeanne Evola (late Larry) and AnnMarie Walker (Michael); his great grandchildren, Declan Quinn and Reagan Quinn; and his siblings, Mary McGrath (John), Catherine McNamara (Kevin) and John Higgins (Karen).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Michael's name.
