Patricia Quinn wrote a sympathy message

“Thank you Carol, Over a year has gone by since running into each other at St. Francis Hospital emergency room. At the time, My mother was being admitted and I was without a voice. That didn't stop you from escorting us to the floor where we essentially set up residence for the next two weeks. While somewhat downcast from the news of my mother's heart problem, you suddenly appeared and once again found something - in moving into a hospital room - to make us break into uproarious laughter that almost brought us to our knees and in the process lifted all of our spirits. I mention this because, it was just another instance of your making a bad situation ( we shared a few) so so much better. And yet there was nothing surprising in it because that is what you did for the last 50 years. You never took. You only added. Even recently, after so many years of giving, when you should have received in abundance, you wouldn't allow it. The problem now is that what we always believed would once agahappen in our lives - being together and causing you to laugh - can not occur. Few people cross your path in life and make you believe that they will always be with you because it's just not possible for the world to continue without them. Being a member of this very rarified group that never asks anything of anyone often puts a person in a position to be taken for granted and so it is with you. Your strength and ever present good cheer coupled with your kindness and best wishes for all made everyone believe you would always be here. We needed and loved you so that We couldn't fathom anything else. We will miss you always even though we know you are with your beloved Jimmy and our loved ones.
