He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gowett and Addie Gowett (Lent); his wife Angelina Gowett; his daughter Angela Gowett; and his brothers, Scott Gowett, Andy Gowett and Frank Dowett.

He is survived by: his sons, Douglas Gowett and Robert Gowett; his sisters, Dorothy Bombard, Dora Lavair and Mary Duhime; and his grandchildren, Kristina Gowett, Michael Gowett, Kyle Gowett, Charleen Simpson, Tina Simpson and Jennifer Simpson. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
