He is survived by: his parents, Sharon Vashaw (Langtry) and John Vashaw; his stepmother Heather Vashaw; his brother Austin; his stepsiblings, Brianna, Bryson and Braelynn Bush; his grandparents, John Vashaw (Poppy), Carolyn Langtry and Patricia Vashaw; and his cousin Ashley Cowden. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and loyal friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Carter Vashaw to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Fund (c/o Kathy Warren, MD, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, DANA 3154, Boston, MA 02215).
