Beatrice E. Finocchiaro Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Beatrice E. Finocchiaro (Fulton, New York), leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

Beatrice "Betty E. Finocchiaro, 70; of Fulton passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home after her courageous 4 ½ year battle with Multiple Myeloma. Betty was born in Fulton to the late James F.A. and Viola (Drinkwine) Brannan. She remained a resident of Fulton for most of her life. Betty worked as a Registered Nurse for 49 years. She first began her career in Manhattan at Lenox Hill and continued in North Carolina where she began a Lamaze Charter Group and a La Leche League. Betty retired from A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital where she worked in the ICU for 30 years and her remaining 10 years in Ambulatory Surgery. Betty was a past member of the Holy Family Parish Council and was a founding couple of the Holy Family Marriage Encounter One/One. Betty was considered the heart of the family. The one who always promoted family and friends to gather and spend time together. A testament to her fellowship was how so many friends and family came forward voluntarily to help the family to take shifts to help the family with home care during her last days and precious moments. Betty was pre-deceased by her Grandmother "Mim" Marie LaPorte Brannan. She was a wonderful high school best friend who became the beloved wife to John "Jack" Finocchiaro of Fulton for 38 years, and a loving mom to their 3 children: Kathryn "Katie" (Alan) Schnall of Fulton, Sarah (John McGraw) Finocchiaro of Fulton, and Laura "Lola" (Hollie MacLennan) Finocchiaro of Boston, MA; step-mother: Carol-Anne Charbonneau of SC, 2 siblings: James (Christine) Brannan of Fulton, Robert (Cheryl) Brannan of Marion, NY and grandma "Mim" to Dakota, Brayden, Ethan, Juliet, Lena, and Nora and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Monday in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Minetto where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Guy Baccaro. Calling hours will be held 1:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton. Burial will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fulton. Donations may be made to Office of Development/Tisch Cancer Institute for Multiple Myeloma, One Gustave L. Levy Place, Box 1049; NY, NY 10029.
