She was predeceased by: her parents, Helen Schieffelin (Campbell) and Edward Schieffelin; and her sister Gertrude Smith. She is survived by: her husband David V. Burdick; her sons, Michael C. Scharlau and Robert L. Scharlau; and her siblings, Edward Schieffelin and Norma Gonnella. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
