He was predeceased by: his parent Serrell S. Santee-Gayton; his wife Stephanie Parks-Gayton; and his brothers, Timothy A. Gayton and Duane C. Gayton. He is survived by: his mother Audrey M. Peterson Gayton of Olean; his children, Nicole Gayton, Vernon Gayton, II (Summer), Veronica Gayton, Dana Gayton, Andre Barber, Brandon Barber, Jaylin Barber and Nakisha Barber; and his siblings, Audrey O. Gayton, Christine Gayton, Debra Gayton, Marlyn Gayton, Calisse Gayton, Lori Gayton, Serrell M. Gayton, Stanley Pierce and Norman Gayton. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
