He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Shipman and Mildred Norton Shipman; and his brothers, Edward and Sheldon Shipman. He is survived by: his children, Tami Lobdell (Tom) of Freeville, Kelly Merritt (Timothy) of Danby, Kim Shipman-Meyer (Mark) of Dryden, Nicole Shipman of Dryden, Wayne Shipman II of Dryden and Trisha Richardson (Rich) of Interlaken; his sister Diane Sharpsteen of Spencer; his sister-in-law Brigid Shipman of Ithaca; and his significant other Axel. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews.
