She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Major and Lena Major (Kleinschmidt); her husbands, Lawrence G. Nelson, Robert L. Galster and Louis Giles; her daughter Penny Gonzalez; and her siblings, Maurice Major and Winifred Rothenberg.
She is survived by: her sons, Philip Zimmer of Freedom and James L. Nelson of Angola; and her stepdaughter Sandra Kushner (Joseph) of Henrietta. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, step-children, step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
