He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Van Cleaf; his brother Henry Van Cleaf; and his children, Lora Gilbert, Dudley Gilbert Sr., Jato Shorter, Charles Aldridge, Lorienda Van Cleaf, BettyAnne Williams, Inez McPeak, George "Bucky" Van Cleaf, Joanne Richie, Jon Van Cleaf, Stephanie Van Cleaf and Savannah Van Cleaf. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
