She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Bates and Virgina Groves Bates; her former husband William VanDerWege; her husband Bernard Lawrence; her children, George VanDerWege Sr., Floyd VanDerWege and Judy Swift; her grandson Danny VanDerWege; and her brother Bennie Bates.
She is survived by: her children, Ellen Stoll (Paul) of Franklinville, Norma VanDerWege of Franklinville, Lucy Ramsey (Dusty) of Franklinville, Wendy Ramage of Olean and Sandy Nawrocki (Rick) of Huntly, VA.; her stepchildren, Barbara Weiser (James) of Amherst and Kenneth Lawrence (Cheryl); and her sister Fay Baldwin of Bolivar. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren.
