We are sad to announce that on January 8, 2025, at the age of 87, Donald J. Shiells of Forestburgh, New York, born in Sussex, New Jersey passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As Donald departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Donald may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Donald leaves behind.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Shiells and Jenny Jordan Shiells. He is survived by: his brother James Shiells of Edgewood, MD..

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the VanInwegen Kenny Funeral Home (401 Broadway, Monticello, NY 12701). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the St. Peter's R. C. Church (10 Liberty St, Monticello, NY 12701).
