He was predeceased by: his parents, James Gillespie and Kathryn Duffney Gillespie; his wife Marilyn Fisher Gillespie; and his brother Richard. He is survived by: his children, Barbara J. Wagner of Rensselaer, Thomas J. Gillespie (Joyce) of Halfmoon, Jennifer Gillespie (Mark Peltz) of Voorheesville and James R. Gillespie (Nancy) of Latham; his siblings, Rodger Gillespie (Helena) of California, Eddie Osterhout (Aloma) of South Carolina and Robert Gillespie; his siblings-in-law, Carol and Eddie Hines; his grandchildren, Shannon McMullen, Ian, Thor, Hailey, Paige Castaldo, Veronica, Sarah, Eileen Peltz, Conway, Emily and Kody Gillespie; and his great grandchildren, Lucas, Athena, Atlas, Beckham, Bindi and Preston.
