He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Sweet and Bettie Sweet; his brother William Sweet; and his pet Chloe. He is survived by: his wife Martha Stanton; his daughters, LeeAnn Groves (Gary) of Gloversville and Rebecca Guadalupe (Jaime) of Johnstown; his stepchildren, Major Elizabeth R. Valade of Linden, Michael Valade of Linden and Virginia; his grandchildren, Lexi, Tommy, Athena, Owen, Lakota and Callie; and his siblings, Jody Sweet, Dawn Williams (Dave Rackmyre) and Lisa Gardner (Tremaine). He is also survived by several in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
